Three Performances Added for Billy Connolly Live! at Chicago’s Royal George Theatre

Internationally-renowned comedian/actor Billy Connolly’s limited engagement of Billy Connolly Live! at the Royal George Theatre has been extended to include October 14th, 15th and 16th. The Tribune’s Chris Jones had this to say about his hilarious, oxygen-depriving show:
…there is something about the way he constantly rushes toward the front of the stage, blinking through his new glasses into the light, straining his body toward the front rows, and desperately trying to shuffle through all the tales he is telling at once. He knows that great comedy needs high stakes — the constant danger of everything smashing to smithereens. On Tuesday night, I swear, it all felt defiant: a brilliant comedic manifestation of that life-truth that if we stop competing and avoid danger and challenge, we merely wilt.
At the Royal George Theatre, where he is contained for an intimate week or more, Connolly walked out alone on to the stage shortly after 8 p.m. By the time he walked off again, it was close to 10:30 p.m.
No opening act. No music. No intermission. No props. No video. Hardly any breaths.
Just the Big Yin, these tall tales and a pair of stripy pants.
